Best For Two New Sites: Hostinger

Hostinger has the most affordable plan for hosting two websites out of the bunch. Premium, as the plan is called, costs $2.89 a month for first-time subscriptions and $3.49 for renewals.

Hostinger’s other advantages include free automatic website backups and fantastic domain prices. What’s more, they are one of the few hosts with negotiable prices, so make sure to contact their billing department for a discount before you buy.

Hostinger is perfect for hosting a pair of new, low-traffic websites – as long as you don’t mind the 20 GB disk space limit.

Business plan highlights:

  • Starting price: $2.89/mo.
  • Websites allowed: unlimited
  • Storage: 200 GB
  • Data transfer: unlimited
  • Money-back guarantee: 30 days
  • Live chat: 24/7
  • Hostinger shared hosting review

Best For Two Established Websites: InterServer

InterServer is superb for hosting a duet of established sites that receive up to a few thousand daily visitors. Their powerful servers can handle sudden traffic spikes really well, and the unlimited storage and bandwidth leave room for your websites to scale.

Prices start at $4.00 a month, and their price-lock guarantee means that whatever rate you pay for your first hosting term will remain locked forever.

InterServer also offers web hosting for students, as well as free hosting for non-profits to boot.

Plan highlights:

  • Starting price: $4.00/mo.
  • Websites allowed: unlimited
  • Storage: unlimited
  • Data transfer: unlimited
  • Money-back guarantee: 30 days
  • Live chat: 24/7

Are There Any Web Hosting Plans That Let You Host Exactly Two Domains?

Most hosting plans support either one website, or unlimited websites.

The only provider that sells a hosting plan with support for exactly two domains is InMotion. Unfortunately, this plan starts at $6.39, which excluded it from our rankings.

Can I Host a Website on a Subdomain?

Yes:

  1. Buy any hosting plan that supports a single domain
  2. Link your domain, let’s call it example.com, to your hosting account
  3. Log into your hosting account’s control panel and create a subdomain, say subdomain.example.com
  4. Install your first website at example.com, and the second website at subdomain.example.com

This can be a good solution for hosting private websites only you and your friends will use.

However, if you intend for your websites to be accessible to the public, we don’t recommend this approach as it will cause navigational issues for your users. The subdomain solution can also make it difficult for Google to properly index your two websites in its search engine results.

How Much Disk Space Do I Need To Host Two Websites?

This depends on the type of websites you plan to host.

For example, a simple WordPress blog shouldn’t occupy more than 1-2 GB of storage in most cases. See our WordPress disk space requirements guide for more.

On the other hand, if you want to host image galleries with lots of high-definition pictures, you could easily need dozens of Gigabytes.

Keep in mind that storage limits are for an entire hosting account, not for each website separately. This means that if you host 2 sites with AccuWeb (10 GB limit) and one of them ends up occupying 8 GB of disk space, you’ll only have 2 GB of storage left for the second website.

How Much Bandwidth (Data Transfer) Will 2 Sites Use?

The more images and large files you have on your website duo, the more content your visitors will need to download to view a page, and the more bandwidth your websites will use.

You can estimate your sites’ data transfer needs by consulting our bandwidth requirements guide.

However, the only way to be sure is to host both sites and monitor their bandwidth usage as traffic pours in.

When in doubt, choose one of the hosting provider with unlimited disk space (InterServer and DreamHost).
