WordPress hosting plans with unlimited storage:

#1: HostWinds (unlimited storage)

Definitely our top recommendation. You get unlimited storage, excellent server performance, and a generous 260,000 Inode limit. You even get a free domain. These are all reasons why HostWinds made it onto our list of the best single-website hosting providers.

Although their basic plan allows you to host just one domain, their top-tier plan, which costs $4.23/mo., supports unlimited add-on domains, making it one of the cheapest hosting plans with unlimited websites.

Basic WP plan highlights:

  • Starting price: $2.35/mo.
  • Websites allowed: one
  • Storage: unlimited
  • Bandwidth: unlimited
  • Money-back guarantee: 60 days
  • Live chat: 24/7

#2: Bluehost (unlimited storage)

Bluehost offers unlimited disk space at a great price. They also allow up to 200,000 Inodes per hosting package, so you’ll be good to go regardless of how many files you need to store on your server. (Read: how many Inodes do you need?)

What’s more, if you are looking to purchase one year of hosting, you’ll be glad to know that Bluehost sells one of the cheapest annual plans around.

Other than being on our list of hosts with pro-rated refunds, Bluehost is one of the only hosts with free backup restorations at this price point.

WP plan highlights:

  • Starting price: $5.95/mo.
  • Negotiable prices: only on renewals
  • Websites allowed: unlimited
  • Storage: unlimited
  • Bandwidth: unlimited
  • Money-back guarantee: 30 days
  • Live chat: 24/7

#3: HostGator (unlimited storage)

One of the most popular hosting providers, HostGator offers unlimited storage on their cheapest WordPress Cloud hosting package.

Although HostGator has one of the best email sending limits anywhere and you can trust them with your money, there are too many things that are wrong with their service to make them worth a strong recommendation.

Make sure to read our HostGator WP Cloud review before you go with them, then decide for yourself.

WP plan highlights:

  • Starting price: $5.95
  • Negotiable prices: no
  • Websites allowed: one
  • Storage: unlimited
  • Bandwidth: unlimited
  • Money-back guarantee: 45 days
  • Live chat: 24/7

WordPress hosting plans with high disk space limits:

#1: InMotion (240 GB)

With InMotion’s premium WordPress plan, you get 240 GB of storage. However, keep in mind that this comes with a very low limit of 50,000 Inodes.

InMotion offers one of the best hosting moneyback guarantees in the business. They are also one of the few hosts with negotiable prices. If lots of storage at a low price, exceptional live chat support, and top-notch server performance are your priorities, then look no further.

High-end WP plan highlights:

  • Starting price: $107.99/mo.
  • Negotiable prices: yes
  • Websites allowed: 20
  • Storage: 240 GB
  • Suitable for: 1,200,000 monthly visitors
  • Money-back guarantee: 90 days

#2: GoDaddy (200 GB)

The 200 GB of storage you get with GoDaddy’s most expensive WordPress plan, along with unlimited bandwidth and unlimited Inodes (read: hosts with the best inode limits), makes this package ideal for freelancers or other professionals who run and manage websites for their clients.

Additionally, GoDaddy is on our list of hosts with free malware scanning and removal. They also made their way into our rankings of the top web hosts with the highest concurrent database connection limits.

High-end WP plan highlights:

  • Starting price: $189.99/mo.
  • Websites allowed: 50
  • Storage: 200 GB
  • Bandwidth: unlimited
  • Money-back guarantee: 30 days
  • Live chat: 24/7

#3: LiquidWeb (150 GB)

150 GB of storage and 5,000 Gigabytes (5 TB) of bandwidth will be plenty for the most demanding users.

They are more expensive than InMotion, but LiquidWeb’s lack of Inode limits and lack of a cap on maximum monthly visitors more than make up for the discrepancy.

High-end WP plan highlights:

  • Starting price: $149.00/mo.
  • Websites allowed: 25
  • Storage: 150 GB
  • Bandwidth: 5 Terabytes
  • Money-back guarantee: 30 days
  • Live chat: 24/7

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) about WordPress-hosting storage

How much storage does a WordPress website need?

Please refer to our detailed article on this topic.

Should a beginner webmaster worry about storage?

Almost certainly not.

The vast majority of new WordPress sites will do fine with less than 100-200 Megabytes of storage. Even more-established blogs and business websites rarely require more than 2-3 Gigabytes of server disk space.

What happens if you approach your storage limit?

If you are in danger of exceeding your server storage capacity, your host will send you a warning email; this usually happens when you’ve exhausted around 70-80% of your allotted disk space.

At this point, your host will likely suggest that you upgrade your hosting package to a higher plan with more storage.

If you choose not to upgrade and continue adding files – whether via FTP or through the WordPress admin panel – you’ll get a server error message if you attempt to upload a file that would take you beyond your limit.

Can I buy additional storage space if I need it?

Suppose that all you need is extra storage – is it possible to purchase a few more Gigabytes of server capacity?

Unfortunately, this is rarely possible with standard shared WordPress hosting plans. Buying additional storage space is usually possible only if you are:

  1. On a VPS (Virtual Private Server) or dedicated server, or;
  2. On one of your host’s custom shared WordPress hosting plans. These plans are, of course, significantly more expensive than the standard plans we listed above. You’ll sometimes see them listed as Enterprise plans.

Can you negotiate more storage space when purchasing a hosting package?

This is actually possible with hosts that are open to negotiations.

Of the hosts listed here, only InMotion and GoDaddy are willing to negotiate with new customers. Before you sign up with them, connect to their pre-sale live chat support agent, and:

  1. Ask a few questions to show that you are seriously interested in their product
  2. Tell them that you are willing to purchase their service right now if they will offer you more disk storage space

You’re more likely to succeed if you are interested in one of their longer (annual+) hosting terms as opposed to in their shorter (1-6 months) packages.
